If you want to save money on your homeowners insurance you can follow this link http://www.mysafefloridahome.com/ and click on I want to apply for a wind inspection. The cost is between $100.00 and $175.00 and the  application takes about 10 minutes, and all you need is your declaration page from you homeowners policy.

I applied online and someone from a wind inspection company contacted me and within two weeks they came out and inspected my home. I live in Creekwood in Bradenton and my home was built in 1994 and I saved $280.00 a year off of my insurance. I have a client who lives in North Port and there home was built in 2007 and there homeowners insurance was going to be $1,500.00 a year, but they saved $900.00 a year.

Let me know if you have already had your home inspected and how much you saved. I would like for other people to see why they should take advantage of this.

Frank, I wanted to let you know that I took your advice on the inspection and saved a ton on my Florida homeowners insurance by getting it done as you suggested.

In the process, I also stumbled accross another website to help me find companies writing Florida homeowners insurance:

http://www.homeinsurancebuyers.org

I saw it in an article in the Sarasota Herald Tribune.

Anyway, the site is sort of like a consumers digest for people looking for Florida homeowners insurance.

There is more information about what it does here:

I'm not sure who saved me more money on my Florida homeowners insurance, I'll give the credit to you, but I wanted to pass this one along as well.

Thanks again for your idea.
